I probably should explain this, because this may become a cause for later confusion: I've had two, very different blogs named "Joseph Dunphy's Notebook". One, the first, was a shortlived affair I had posted on my diskspace at a provider which need not be named until one day, without warning, explanation or any sign of a good, respectable reason, said provider deleted my account. This was what I called a "page two" blog, a place where I would place posts that expanded on points made on one of my other blogs. It only lived long enough to see two (slightly) substantive posts, in addition to the obligatory "here I am and this is what I am here to do" post and the Technorati claim post.

Then there is what until recently was going to be my my Livespaces blog (before Microsoft decided to kill Livespaces), which is probably not going to be anything like that. Given where the 360 people mostly headed, Multiply is probably going to be friendly territory for me in a less impersonal sort of way, so I definitely like the idea of connecting more to that blog. My thought is that the new Notebook is probably going to be more a Math blog than anything else. Yes, I probably could have reduced the level of confusion by giving it a completely new name, and maybe I will as the new blog defines itself a little more, but for now I just happen to like its name, and didn't want to see it go to waste.
